I’ve been meaning to get this posted all week, but it’s been a hectic one. I wanted to share that I have a new project published in the June/July 2019 issue of BEADWORK Magazine! The project is called “Melon Delight Wrap Bracelet”, and it appears on page 55. This off-loom project is a fun spin on today’s popular wrap bracelets. I designed the project in two different colorways, but with all the bead options available, there are many directions to take this project! (HINT: I’d love to see someone do a dressy version of this piece by substituting glass pearls and crystals for the melons and fire polished beads!!)
I do have kits for this project available in my Etsy shop. The kits include all the materials needed to create the bracelet except the needle and thread (needle and thread can be found in the “Needles/Threads/Findings” section of my shop. The kits are available in the two colorways featured in the magazine article, and they can be found HERE.
It has been a few years since I’ve had the time to develop a project for publication, and I am excited to be back in the game!
I also want to briefly mention how important it is that we, as beaders, support our beading publications. I’m sure many of you have noticed over the years how the number of beading magazines has dwindled, and that the remaining publications have changed quite a bit. The internet is a great resource for many things, and I understand the temptation to hop online and do a quick search for ideas. But, I know that I, for one, truly enjoy holding an actual glossy-paged magazine in my hands while I peruse the projects, articles, and advertisements. In fact, I still have every single magazine I’ve subscribed to and/or purchased since I began beading almost 25 years ago, and I still love going back through those old issues. More often than not, I come across something that didn’t previously catch my eye!!
Magazines are a great source of inspiration, and I hope that we always have them as a resource!
